The Bathroom Accident That Killed Former Prisons Boss Patrick Mwenda

Former Assistant Commissioner General of Prisons Patrick Mwenda has died after undergoing a head surgery to remove a blood clot after a bathroom accident.
Mwenda, who also served as the Officer in Charge of Naivasha Maximum Prison died at a Mombasa hospital.
Francis Mwangi, Mwendas’s friend, says before his death, the former prisons boss preferred cremation and that his family will respect his wishes.
He will be remembered for introducing education reforms in the country’s correctional services facilities that has seen more than 2,000 get education while in prison.
Mwenda also championed the formation of the Mindfulness Project which sought to positively change the intellect of inmates before returning to society after finishing their sentences.
