Detectives have finally arrested prisons warder Edwin Omuse, who disappeared from duty yesterday armed with a G3 rifle, on a mission to kill his girlfriend.

Angry Omuse disappeared from Kangeta GK Prison in Meru, carrying the carefully concealed riffle in a sack loaded with 20 rounds of ammunition.

Earlier, Omuse had been overheard saying that he would travel to Thika to kill his girlfriend who had defrauded him Sh900,000 that he had loaned.

The girlfriend was saved by the detectives from the Special Service Unit, Crime Research and Intelligence who managed to trace her in her house located at Kisii estate in Thika town. Later Omuse got into the same house with spare-keys and called the girlfriend to know she was ready to finish her -that is when he was arrested.

The DCI strongly warns and cautions the female youth particularly those in the Universities, Colleges and other tertiary institutions to be wary of predators who lure them with money that is temporary which leads to many killings and suffering.
